Near and far

Chris Tzaros and I have just completed another set of bird photography workshops (#29 & #30), with a great group of participants – some local, others from as far afield as Canberra, Adelaide and Newcastle. It was terrific to spend time with keen and experienced folks … birders and photographers, in the bush around Newstead.

A highlight for all was this active Yellow-tufted Honeyeater nest in the Rise and Shine. Two well-grown nestlings were being fed with lerp and insects at regular intervals by the adults.

One response to “Near and far

  1. Hi Geoff, It was great to meet up with you and Chris yesterday. After the workshop, I went back to Rise and Shine and got some reasonable shots of the Yellow Tufted honeyeaters. I sat near, but not too close the nest and within about 5 minutes an adult came by with a feed. He/she also sat on the nest for about 10 minutes.

Thanks for all the work and effort that went into yesterday’s workshop (#29), I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Those are great looking shots of yours of one of those honeyeaters, all of them showing beautiful colours and details.
