A little upset

What does it take to upset a Striated Thornbill?

Striated Thornbill, Fence Track Muckleford State Forest, 12th September 2016

The sudden appearance of a Cuckoo … in this case a Shining Bronze-cuckoo. This migrant brood parasite lays its eggs in the nests of small bush birds – it has a particular liking for thornbills.

  1. Fantastic photos again thanks. I’ve never seen the cuckoo before! Q from an ignorant ex-pat…..is their call the ubiquitous ” cook-oo”?
