Business update

It’s a busy time in the garden at the moment.

The Grey Shrike-thrush is conscientiously incubating in the basket beside the kitchen door. Meanwhile a family of Superb Fairy-wrens is getting set to raise a family nearby – the male appears at the kitchen window at regular intervals to contest its reflection. What an extraordinarily beautiful bird!

  1. Having them nesting at your door is a wonder. I regularly get friendly currawongs diving into my large camellia like kamikaze pilots, then they shake out their feathers and look at me hopefully. I give them some mince. The camellia is a metre from my front door.
