‘Wigley Gum Way’ aka Tangey’s Lane, on the south-western edge of Newstead is often a good spot for birds. Remnant Yellow Gum and Grey Box woodland with some large old trees provides excellent habitat. You can sometimes encounter Hooded Robins – I see White-browed Babblers and a host of smaller birds on most visits. This pair of Eastern Yellow Robins were enjoying the sunshine earlier in the week when I dropped by.
