Birds and mammals …

… are getting thirsty as dry conditions persist. Luckily, the downpour in the Muckleford bush a few weeks back is still paying dividends – a few small pools remain in the gullies. I often come across a dozy Swamp Wallaby at these places, joined by a procession of birds – in this case a small flock of Fuscous Honeyeaters, looking resplendent in the late afternoon light.

  1. I have been enjoying noting the number and different species at the bird bath in Yandoit. It’s not the only water but they seem to like the location.
