Back at the shine

I’ve hardly been to one of my favourite birding sites, the Rise and Shine, at all over summer.

This has been a serious error, as I got a lovely selection of species on a visit there earlier this week. In addition to the birds pictured below I spotted: Peaceful Dove, Scarlet Robin, Brown and White-throated Treecreeper, Yellow-tufted, Fuscous and Black-chinned Honeyeater, White-browed Babbler and Mistletoebird. The highlight was spending a few quiet minutes observing this Crested Shrike-tit searching for insects under bark.

  1. Thanks again Geoff for sharing these beautiful images with us, I look forward to them everyday and everyday they remind me me of how wonderful nature is and how lucky we are to live amongst it.
    cheers Tina

  2. Do love! — but what else is new you do such beautiful photography and write such good descriptions.

  3. Great to see the Crested Shrike-tit at work, lovely photos and a compelling story
