In the blink of an eye

The Sacred Kingfishers are getting busy feeding nestlings in their ‘apartment’ on the river.

It seems the timing is a little later this year though, as the parents are spending time inside the tunnel, presumably watching over recently hatched chicks. Normally you can hear the cries of the young when they reach a certain size as they beg the parents to arrive with food. Trying to photograph proceedings is a challenge I suspect I’ll never master – the adults are just too quick!
