Brown Thornbill portrait gallery

The Brown Thornbill is a very photogenic little bird. This pair was observed on the weekend near Fence Track at the southern margin of the Muckleford State Forest. One of the birds was seen carrying some nesting material, a tiny down feather, in purposeful fashion – I was unable to locate the nest but good to know that they are on the job!

  1. Hi Geoff, as always your photo’s bring us so much delight and pleasure. To see these little birds up close is just wonderful, thank you again for sharing these with us Tina and Mary

  2. If I was to rest on a branch like the bird in your images I’m not sure what would give way first my legs or the branch

It’s certainly not just a nondescript brown bird up close! Thanks Geoff
