Coming and going

This morning I managed a half-reasonable shot of a White-backed Swallow arriving at the nesting tunnel. There was a little activity between 8am and 9am, with adults circling overhead, followed by rapid visits to the nest to remove faecal pellets.

  1. Hi Geoff, whereabouts on the Loddon River can some White-backed swallows been seen? (I have only ever seen them once. This was at Lake Mungo and am pleasantly surprised they are this far south)
    thanks

  2. Hi Dave
Look on the north west side of the river, about 100 metres downstream from the highway bridge. Walk to where the fence is and you’ll be pretty sure of seeing them overhead. Morning and evening are best times.
    All the best, geoff
