Lapwing close-up

Masked Lapwings are very different birds outside the breeding season. This one, seen this morning along Codrington Street, almost jumped into the car as I snapped a close-up. A far cry from their aggressive demeanour earlier in the season!

  1. This bird like many has a very elegant colour scheme but the crows’ feet are not so beautiful, too much Christmas cheer? Maybe a better tailored mask would be more flattering? Cheers, Happy New Year. Moira

  2. What great end-of-year portraits. The mask looks detachable.
