Swift Parrots and Robins

There still seem to be good numbers of Swift Parrots around. This afternoon I came across a loose flock of about 20, feeding in ones and twos, near the junction of Spring Hill Track and Sullivans Track [location]. Also seen nearby were a pair of Hooded Robins (see winter 2010 observations) moving between the bush and adjacent open farmland. A number of Flame Robins were also present.

A very handsome bird!

  1. Thank you for doing this – I just subscribed. The orchid destruction near Frankston I told you about is detailed here: http://savethepines.net/index.php/news/item/157/

Kind regards to you and readers, Marion

    • Welcome to the Natural Newstead blog Maz. The orchid story is a disaster … when will we ever learn?
      Regards, Geoff
