The Swifties stole my camera

If anyone is out in the Muckleford State Forest doing some bird watching, see if you can find my camera.  It’s a Panasonic Lumix and I lost it last weekend whilst out trying to find Swift Parrots.  I reckon it was on the Mia Mia Track, in the firewood collecting area.  !!!!

Moths

After some overnight rain, we had some amazing moths visit us.  We are still going through the moth books trying to identify them.  See ELMA blog for more photos.  This one lives on Black Wattle.

Elphinstone Phascogale

Neville Cooper recently found this Brush-tailed Phascogale Phascogale tapoatafa on the Pyrenees Highway in Elphinstone, June 2009.  We think it must have come from the Fryers Ranges State Park and tried unsuccessfully to cross the road!  We think it’s female.
