Have you seen an Echidna lately? I captured this shot at Providence Gully recently. This one buried itself in a ball when I approached but slowly lifted its head as I waited quietly a few metres away. If you are really fortunate you may encounter an Echidna “train” – one female being followed by a conga line of enthusiastic males! Mary once saw a train of seven echidnas and I have heard of sightings of up to 13 at one time.
